Traction Engine woes.

I started building this home grown Traction Engine with a set of home drawn up plans approx 1.5 times a Sweet Sixteen. The Sixteen has a sliding cylinder inside a cylinder. It does not have a normal cylinder and slide valve arrangement.
I scaled up the slide cyl in slide cyl unit, built it but cannot get it operating. I am thinking of using the Minnie style of cylinder and slide valve.
Does anyone have drawings of this to pass on? or sell? I don't want everything else for the Minnie as I am just happy with what I am doing elsewhere on this project.
I am not using any castings, everything is fabricated, and welding is used for wheel construction instead of rivets.
