Well, finally got far enough ahead of everything else to get busy with the bearings..
Cut all the blanks out, milled the ends square, drilled and tapped as per the dwg, drilled a piece of scrap to use as a base on all of them in turn to give me a consistent position in the mill vice...
The table on the Taig mill has a t-slot across the front that take a 4-40 nut, so I made the stops you see from a bit of spare aluminum, great thing for repeat cuts...
Made a fixture for the rotary table to cut all the arcs without a lot of repeat positioning
Heres where I was on the 15th....
at which point I realized that when I set over the rotary table, I used the RADIUS of my cutter instead of the diameter.... oh crap.
Heres where I am today, after doing it all again....bearings Mk II
Stay tuned, someday you'll see the Mk I bearings show up in a new application
Cheers, Joe
