Hi All,

New member here, originally from Australia but now living in the US, my main interests are building small gas turbine engines and I.C. engines. I've had a copy of L.C. Mason's "Building Mastiff" for many years, a build I would like to attempt one day.

Here's a couple of photobucket slide shows of a completed engine and my current project.

Steve,

Welcome to HMEM.

Welcome to the forum Steve!

Great set of pics!!
How about a video of the first one running???

Looking forward to the second one being completed!

Andrew

Here's the videos....

This one is the maiden run, fuel is propane, rpm is about 12-14k. At this speed its barely self sustaining.

Second shot of the first run, from the front. lighting is pretty poor.

This is the first successful start on kerosene. The engine was run up to ~33k rpm ( the idle speed ) then shutdown.

Regards.

Steve.

Welcome Steve, there are some interesting and innovative machining techniques in your album, I look forward to learning a few new tricks and enjoying your workmanship.

G'day Steve and welcome to the forum. In the last few weeks I have developed a very keen interest in building a small jet turbine but cant seem to get hold of any plans. If you could steer me in the right direction I would be very grateful
