Hi.
I have layed my hands on a pair of digital scales( caliper style), one 800mm and one 300mm.
I will use them on my mill X-Y axis. The 800mm is a bit long(100mm) and I wonderig if I can cut off on one end or am I asking for throuble if I do :-\.
Best Regards
CS

The sensor on those scales read a strip of pcb under the sticker. If you cut it no harm will be done.

It does not matter how short you cut it it will make no difference, the actual readout is controlled by 2 small
copper strips running on the 2 smooth runners a pcb plus display and battery. Please watch out if they are of the Tiawanees
type they will not be sealed and if near oil or coolants will die quickly. They do anyway.
The sumioto (spelling!) is by far the best but expensive. I you are in the States try Grizzly.com if in UK
there are dozens to pick from.
Try takeing a dead one apart and you will see what I mean

Bob

:) ;D
