I am currently designing a 4cyl head based on Arv,s Tiny IC.

I want to make the head out of aluminum, but I would like the valve guides to be brass.
Because there is such a small space (3/8" bore) I want to make a brass plug above each cylinder bigger that the bore and top hat shaped to stay in place.

My question is, once I put the brass plug in, I will then need to machine the head, the spark plug will cross between the aluminum into the brass.

How do I make sure the brass plug stays put for good?

Can I use some locktite, would that be strong enough to hold up to the mysterious forces applied when torquing the spark plug, or machining it down to size?

Also, how much surface area is not enough when it comes to head gasket surface. Ex. would 1/8" be sufficient between the cylinder and the edge of the block?

I hope this wasn't to vague.
