Bill, Having owned a shaper 7-SB, if you have the room look at something bigger. I say this because almost every time I had a job perfect for the shaper the table of the SB was too small, there are no tee slots in an SB only shallow u shape grooves, The holes are not in good places to take nuts, if it didn't fit in the 3" vise you almost could not mount it. A 12" shaper has a table that has tee slots, space under the ram to fit a dividing head. Just my .02
The price tends to be lower the bigger you go with a shaper.
