I'm Dave, cooped up here in Northwestern Woods county, Oklahoma for a few years And I've recently acquired the Itch to build Some model engines after Drooling over some I've seen on here. I've bought a few broken ones on Fleabay and finished them up, but I can't Say I built them.
I really Want to build the Tiny inline 4, but i figured I had better Try the single first. I will be purchasing those plans shortly.
I spent A few hours staring at the plans for the "TINY" and ordered up the Stock I didn't have on hand to complete the little Guy. I decided to Follow the plans exactly except for the materials, and Squared up, and plunged into a 1.5" square piece of CRS that I had laying around.
Don't Get me wrong, I Like Aluminum but there's just something Cheap about it. I like the Heavy bulletproof and solid feel of a Nice piece of american Iron.
And if I am going to spend the time whittling out my first whole engine It wasn't going to be in aluminum.
Here is the work I have done on the frame so Far. every accessible side Is fly-cut and I used a hand file to knock down the edges. I used my VFD driven 9x42 Bridgeport and a 5/8"HSS 2 flute and long 1/4" HSS ball end to mill the frame out.
