I was looking for plans for a turret and found two that looked interesting,on
ebay. One was a standard 4-way turret with indexing (ebay item# 230436401586 )
and the second one was a Quick Change turret(ebay item 230466829606 ), both by
the same person. I asked the seller to re-list last week and he has not, for
whatever reason. The only sign they were there is in the Sold item history folder I have saved. Which brings me to the reason for my post.
Has any member purchased these plans and can tell me/us about the designs:
1)-How are the qc holders locked in place?
2)-How the indexing is constructed?
3)-Your personal review of this design.
4)-Do you feel its locking mechanism is safe?

I'm willing to purchase them !

Email me or post your response.

Thanks Chuck,
Your lead took me on a short trip, right to the business phone number of the company. I called and spoke with Dick, the man that engineered both the turrets. He walked me though the ball bearing indexing system in his designs,as well as the locking mechanism on the QC tool post. He's incorporated an angled, spring-loaded armature on the left side of the dovetail that locks/unlocks the tool holder by means of the setscrew. He told me the standard indexing turret can be made from 6061 aluminum; however, the QC turret should be made out steel. He pretty much answered all my questions as well as talked about a 2 tool holder that he'll be marketing, in the near future. Chuck - your lead got me all my answers.
