I saw that ad several years ago and did a little research on it. It's really cool. They did it in a bit over 900 takes, if I recall. There are no camera tricks or CGI, it was all done in one continuous shot. All the parts come from the same model Honda mini van that is in the ad.
Like you, I thought the tires looked a little funny. They look like they are weighted off center so they will roll up hill. Notice they don't make a full rotation.
