My new rotary table and tail stock with dividing plates arrived today.
Its a Soba one. I know they are not suppose to be as good as vertex but i thought I would try as it was very competitively priced. alway send it back. (It is staying)
I am very very please so far. screw free play out of the box is only 2 minutes i was led to expect about 20. i am sure this can be adjusted out. But i think that is fine for me as i can work with that. Are the vertex tables much better?
My first job is a bit chicken and egg to make a gear for my lathe so that I can cut a thread on a blank mt2 stub to mount a chuck on the rotary table.( I could buy a gear and a stub but I think you probably understand) I am going to work between centers to do this.
I have this urge to make my own gears and cut my own threads using home ground tools. But for now
Can Any one recommend a supplier of gear cutters 18 DP ?
