Here are some pictures of the Compound engine and the stack of engines I will be selling. In the big wood box is a 4”x4” engine based on the Stuart #1 that set of castings will have to go by truck

Do you have any info on the 4 x 4 engine? Do you have drawings?
Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris

I have no information other what is written on the crate. I did find a small box that states that it is the bronze parts for the 4”x4” engine. I think there is a 5a feed pump castings that was to go on the engine. The flywheel is 14” in diameter. Double of a standard #1 so I would just use plans for a #1 and double the dimensions.
I will get some pictures in the morning. The castings are in the attic and it is already quite warm up there.

Y'all, I would NEVER buy a casting set without the drawings unless I already had them. Also beware of missing parts.

Stuart is still in business plus I am sure that someone has the drawings and are done with them. There is an inventory list with the #8. These castings are a lot better than what you get today from what I have heard.

Stuart-Turner will sell you the drawings separately. My son found an old (1950's ?) set of 10H castings whilst clearing a shed, and S-T sold me the drawings for UKP 16 a couple of months ago.
