Can anyone identify this Clausing mill?

I just saw this listed on craigslist close to me, Im waiting a respond but it is most likely gone by now.
Can anyone identify this model? what it would be worth? what all I should look at if it is still avail?

Tough to tell exactly without looking at the spindle, but those are nice little mills. Probably an 8520 or 8525. Depending on condition and location, they can go from <$1000 to $2000+, and they tend to sell fast if priced right.

I got very excited when I saw it, but my response was a few hours after it was posted so Im guessing it was too late. It is offered at a fraction of what shred says the value would be.

I have a Clausing 8513. It looks like the 8520, but it has a Bridgeport M head instead of the Clausing head. I called Clausing once to see if I could buy new leadscrews (They had them but for an outrageous price). I asked about the M head and was told they built 'a bunch' of them for one specific customer that demanded the M head. I had always assumed mine was a cob job some previous owner had done.

I eventually made new leadscrews for it, bought stock screw from Weedin in Michigan.

I got a great deal when I bought mine, $600, but that was at least 15 years ago.

They are excellent small mills and if you can buy one even up to $1500 or so they are worth it.

Yeah, the Clausings are the originals they knocked off (though long since out of production) to make the China 6x26's. The Far-Easterners did at least put in an R8 spindle and I think bulked them up a little. I'm not sure if any parts interchange.

Thats very interesting- ebay has a photo of the nametag and it says 8512. I wonder what the difference is with the 8513,and how many more special models there are?

I looked closer at the photos- this one has only a one speed crank on the X axis, on the left end. Mine has the 2 speed gearbox on the right end.

Mine also has a different table, mine has coolant grooves along the sides.

I guess Clausing made a lot of options.

I've been trying to chase one down for a while now. There were two 8520 recently listed by the same person on CL here recently. They only wanted 3750USD EACH.
