can some body tell me what the angle to cut is on the belt conversion for the mini mill .
ive made the large pully but the belt does not ride right so i need to re cut the groove. i dont want to make anouther one so im asking that maybe someone here aready has the belt drive could measure it for me. ive all ready cut it twice so my pully is getting smaller as i go . i may just have to make a new one. oh well more pratice for me.
thganks in advance

The belt drive conversion kits use a standard FHP
(Fractional Horse Power) belt. It is a 2L130.
1/4" Top Width - 1/8" Thick - 13" circumference.

The FHP belts have an included angle of 40°.
As a drive belt flexes around a pulley it thins a little.
To compensate for that thinning most pulleys are cut
to a 38° included angle. Each side of the groove is
19°.

If the belt you are using is not a standard FHP none of this
means a thing. Maybe I should have started with;
What belt are you using?

its a gates 0130 1/4 x 13" 2L130 . it works good just does not sit in the pully all that great. i had cut the pully acording to the plans but either i messed up or that was the wrong info . and thanks rick. ill keep pluging away .

maybe i need to go back and restudy the plans and make sure i did it right . ;D
