amazing.
I may have missed it but what is the impeller for?

Ha! Thanks! Yea, I never explained that... It's basically a supercharger. It will pull in air/fuel and pressurize the cylinders on the intake stroke. I have it geared 2.56:1 overdriven.

Wow. Amazing. Very nice photos. Wish someday I can make something like that.

Keep it up and please keep us informed of your progress.

Here's a render for you guys.

You can see I changed the rear mounting brackets I think they look pretty sweet vs. the tierod linkages; and finally modeled a carb. And found a cad model of a prop online, it really completes the engine! I still need to figure out how to model wires...

Needless to say, this has been one hell of an adventure!

Hi SK,
You are fanstastic. You have raised the bar. Till I get the Glow Plug Engine running then I dare not dream of building yout engine.
For now it is day dreaming.Have seen Model Rotary Engines running in YouTube. I admire the guy who dared to visioned such engines and the guys that built and got it to run and fly full size aircrafts.I have worked on the INgersoll-Rand ,T-30, 5000 psig Rotary Piston Compressors which can be very unforgiving.

Please keep us posted.

This is all some amazing work. It's gonna be crazy cool when you finish it. Lookin' forward to your updates.

Todd

Very nice progress!
- do you use a tapmatic-like tapping head?
- what is the reddish colored ring (looks like a seal)? O-ring? Copper gasket?

Nope, unfortunately I don't have a tapmatic. Everything is hand tapped.

The orange thing is a high temperature o-ring.
