Following another discussion re passing on skill and information to the young - have a read as to how they are doing it in http://www.geocities.com/davidvwilliamson/steamcar.html Africa -(Natal) -

With minimal funding they are doing so much with so very little. Makes you sad that our (UK) well funded schools have so little encouragement to teach basic engineering.

PS I wouldn't be able to do this as steam is considered a high risk element in the classroom in the UK!!!!

Yes Rick, but don't forget, the "uneducated" kids in Natal don't have to think about really important things like "Doom" and "Descent" and "FIFA manager" and how to text faster than their mates.
