Well I figure it was time to stop lurking and finally step out of the shadows and say hello. My name is Chris I am new to machining for the most part. I have never taken a class or had anyone show me how to use a lathe, but it is something I have wanted to learn for years. I got my first lathe probably 6 years ago from my father, he found out I was interested in machining and by the next weekend he had picked a small 109 up for me. The 109 never got used much it seems that every time I would get it adjusted it would just work itself out of adjustment so it was constant fight to use it. Then after locating here to Virginia I got the run of the garage so I started looking for another lathe and then they just kept coming. The last lathe I purchased came with a bunch of stuff so I may post pictures from time to time to ask what is this. I hope you like my video(if I can post it), I am sorry that it is a little shaky and that I sound like Vader breathing behind the camera. Well after 2 days 14 hrs and 13 minutes of lurking here is my video. Chris.

Nice tools! Welcome to the forum, thanks for feeding our video addiction. :D

Thanks for the replies, I am thinking about the EZ build for the first real build. It looks to be a good one to learn on and I think I have enough scrap pieces laying around that I could make one.

Welcome to the forum Chris.
Nice shop and a great choice for a build.
