to raise some $ for new tools

i'm going to sell off some 99.9995% pure Magnesium Rod

i originally bought this as a flint and steel replacement experiment for my flintlock rifles

i have 2 rods left both 4" long

its not cheap as its pure but maybe some one will want some ultra light and strong material

to give you a idea one bar is 23.6 grams the other 23.1 grams

will seperate or cut to length but prefer to sell as a length

$ 25 each (USD) or $29 (AUD) if you check thats about 75% of current price and its going up

Jack,
I'd love to help fund your tooling purchases, put me down for one of them rods.

Done

just a note though this is pure magnesium

not the stabilised stuff ( 2% sulfur or sometime other stuff like cobalt or beryllium)

it machines very nicely but do use a spray or other coolant if working it a long time
and you'll love the sparks!! pure white! wear your sunnies eh

my favourite trick is to cut it with a very course hacksaw slowly then add the filings to the fixings for a home made penny bunger ( M60 firecracker for the US folks i think) and use another to launch it from some water pipe

makes a great small air display

sadly not that legal in Oz anymore

it'll be on the way in the morning Macca

cheers

jack
