Elbow Engine?

In that applications it needs to flex, I wouldn't think it's sapping much power there as it's hardly flexing. Have you tried bending stuff like that to 90 degrees though? That would put a massive side load on the pistons and would cause it to bind and not run at all as Rick, Bob and Stew said earlier.
