I've been using a drill DR. for ten years and it works okay. But the large drills had to be sharpened by hand/eye, results were often less than okay. The Darex sharpeners seen for sale did not do large bits. So When this Mohawk came up on the 'bay it became mine. The machines main draw was the ability to do 1.250" drills, and it is still in production, so I can get parts. It sold cheap because it weights 500 lbs and was located in nowhere IN.

After some freight it is now in my shop.

Instead of a slew of collets like Darex and others, this uses jaws that catch the flutes, and a center point or cup to catch the shark end.

It has a wide wheel with coolant to avoid burning the drill tips, it does a great job. It is a bit overkill for a home shop, but I'll try to drum up some business from friends and internet contacts to keep it in use. Any interest here?
