Recently Travers Tool had a half-price special on this air-driven die grinder:

For less than $50 shipped I decided to give it a try with the idea of using it for an engraving spindle on my CNC mill. It showed up yesterday in the mail.
The body is 5/8" diameter. I clamped it in the vise on my manual mill with a 1/8" spotting drill chucked in the collet (should be close-tolerance diameter), and positioned a .0005" per division DTI against the drill. The total runout is in the .001" area, which seems very good for a Chinese-made inexpensive tool.
The grinder has an adjustable valve, so the speed can be adjusted down from the 53K rpms, and as well a globe valve placed inline with the air supply could adjust the speed as well.
I need to figure out how to mount it on my CNC mill, and then give it a try.
