I received a text from guy I used to work with yesterday.

It said: "Hey Rick, would you be interested in this old Craftsman metal lathe?"

Looks to be like a 1950's Craftsman Atlas 6 X 18, maybe an armature lathe.
He said there are boxes of tools chucks and aluminum stock with it.

I think I have my cousin talked into buying it for his first lathe.

There is!!! In my case the first step was a Logan model 210. Not sure yet just what the second step will be. ;D

I think I'm on Step 10 now. If you count brake lathes I'm at 11.

Logan 9x17
Enco 10x24
Atlas 618 mk1
atlas 618 mk2
Atlas 618 mk1
HF minlathe
Enco minlathe
MicroMark minilathe
Cummins minilathe
Enco12x24
SB 9a

Ack! that's 11 without the brake lathe

I only ever had 5 at a time, currently 4 - Enco1024, Atlas 618, Micromark 7x14, SB 9A.
They are all so nice I hate to give up any of them.
Not to say I won't buy the next good deal that pops up ;)

OK ......waiting for progress pictures......!

;D

rake60, sure hope you get it, there are never enough lathes, think like this what if you were to grow some more arms, see ?
AR1911, I think you have one more that me, I think we are on the right track, this is one place where more does matter, I won't turn one down when the price is right
Lathe Nut ;D

I recently gave away a 10L, surplus from university engineering school undergraduate shop. Don't worry, you didn't want this one for free.
