I had this old Kalamazoo Industries 1" x 42" belt sander doing nothing but collecting dust so I decided to tear it apart, clean it, and paint it. I coulfnt believe how much dust amd grime I blew out of the motor. It had mainly been used to sand ejector pins to exact length back in my injection molding days. The frame was sandblasted down to bare metal and painted with Ristoleum Hammered Silver while the motor and upper guard were done in Hammered Black. A new power cord was installed and after reassembly its as good as new. I'm sure the "new" old toy will find more frequent use now in the home shop.

Nice. I find my little belt sander to be one of my most-used tools-- everything from deburring to sharpening cutoff tools to cleaning up copper boiler bits.
