Hi guys, i have this project in mind to do for fun, and try to increase my electronics and pcb fabrication skills, so i´ll post my updates here so people can benefit and the more experienced menbers can help me go the right way and not end up electrocuting myself.

My plan is to do a spot welder easy to do for newbes (like me) and as versatile as posible.

I took as a reference this web:
http://www.5bears.com/welder.htm

This looked for me easy enought to try, but he did use a comercial timer and i thought, well why not use a well known 555 ??

Here i post the circuit that i did on my breadboard with some componets that i had around. (this circuit is minimal, please if anyone see some error correct me)

The spst will be a foot switch, and since the 555 can source 200mA i think is possible to drive a solid state relay. Right now with that capacitor and pot configuration i have 2.4s more or less i plan a 100k pot that will give a 5.2s.

I´ll post more info as i advance in the project

Thanks
