Hello all.
My name is Bert.

I have been lurking here for a time and absorbing a vast amount of info to enhance my limited machining skills. Great site, friendly atmosphere, and lots of good advice for a novice such as I am.
I am not likely to contribute a lot because of my novice status and the bulk of my projects so far have been parts for “Stuff” that I am making. Things like bushings shafts etc. You know, the things you could buy for a few dollars but it is more fun to spend 6 hours making it.

Thanks again for a great site. ….. Bert

P.S. I stumbled across this earlier this evening. Some may find it interesting.

I did a lot of research and development work on high production sawmills all up through your part of the world in the early 1980's. I grew up in Bancroft, which is considerably south of you. I put in mills in Ruon Noranda, White River, Kapuscasing, Mattawa, and Hornpayne. Worked for North American Sawmills out of Kilaloe/Eganville area.

welcome to the board. pull up a chair and join the fun.
