Does anyone have any knowledge on Ted Young's Hit and Miss petrol engine?
I have just purchased through the internet the castings for this engine and would like to know where I can obtain a copy of the plans.
I made this engine in the year 2000, it was such a good runner that an old farmer pleaded with me to sell it to him, unfortunately the plans went with it.

I would suggest you contact the person selling his castings, it is his daughter and son-in-law.

Ted Young Engine. (309) 685-4577 Fred & Debbie Hansen. 2419 North Idaho Street Peoria, Illnois 61604-3060. [email protected]e lance gas engine casting kit.

Thank you for your reply Herbiev, I will see what I can find out from them.
Fortunately I found some of my old notes made when I worked on this engine and these will help.
Thanks again, regards, Flymate2

That was my first engine made from castings, about 1989 or so. I will dig around in my old files and see If I kept any drawings. It is a nice, well proportioned engine.

I have almost finished a hit and miss engine completely made up from scratch. It is 4/5 th the size of Ted Young's engine, I scored the flywheels from an old friend who passed away many years ago. My son is a welder and he cut and welded the main base assembly, the ignition is a piezo crystal, I hope it works. This is my 3rd H-N-M engine after many steam and Sterling motors.
