Hi,

i'm planning some things where a cyl. grinder would be a great advantage.

buying an old one isn't a problem of price - old machines are not very expensive
most common problem is the groung and the weight - finally i need only a grinding length
below 6 or 8"

principial composition is known - using an old lathe i didn't prefer :-(

maybe that there is a plan or anything else - maybe only part-drafts or construction aid in the web
i didn't find - reason maybe next line:

how is it called in english right way ?
cylindrical grinder ?

Frank,
The machine for grinding the outside surface of a cylinder is called a cylindrical grinder.

Is that what you are looking for?

I've not seen any plans for one, but would love to have one.

It seems most cylindrical grinding by ME's is done with a tool post grinder, an attachment for the lathe. That's something I will not do.
