I use a moldable gasket material on the hot end of Stirling engines that has withstood the temprature of a propane torch for several minutes. It's branded "Permatex' Ultra Copper High Temp RTV Silicone. It's rated to 700 F (intermitten). It's fairly thick. I apply it to both mating surfaces, let it get tacky then fasten the two surfaces. Others on this forum have pointed out that it will flow when the mating parts are fastened together and I have also observed this so use is sparingly and let it set before fastening. I buy it at auto parts stores in the USA.
