Hello all,

I am looking over the plans for my first engine, a Stuart 10H. I notice that part #4 (p/n BR340), the piston head, in the plans do not include dimensions for the 3 oil grooves.

I'm thinking the three grooves should be somewhere between .5mm x .5mm and 1mm x 1mm. What do the experts recommend?

Long term I plan to run the engine under live steam, but before I can build a boiler I plan to run on compressed air.

Thanks in advance,

Adam

You just need to touch them with the tip of a Vee shaped tool, 0.5mm at the top of the vee would be fine and about 0.35 deep
