I am building Jan Ridders simple 2 stroke. I am however unsure of a good way to affix the brass end caps to the vapor carburetor fuel tank. Apart from some electronics here and there, I am new to soldering.

1) Should I soft solder these (Tin/Lead)?
2) I do not want to mar the part with too much heat and have solder running everywhere. Is the standard to use Solder paste and heat the part?

I have put a fair amount of work into these parts to this point and the last thing I want to do is wreck them with too much heat or inappropriate solder choice.
