I know most guys try to make engines smaller and smaller. I am waiting on plans for the Ford 1893 engine. It seems that I have most of the material to make one in the shop, but everything, including the flywheel is a bit larger than called for. The flywheel is close to twenty pounds. Has anyone made a larger version (mainly bore diameter)? Or maybe a twin cylinder? I would like to use what I have.

I'm not entirely clear what you're proposing. If you're thinking of taking an existing design and making it larger, be aware that you may run into strength issues, i.e. the design may no longer be strong enough.

Being a total amateur, these are the things that I need to know before I start. I can make things on my lathe and mill, but never made an engine (except for a wobble steam) before.
