Hello all

My question is, i purchased a "Soba 8" rotary table", now being a total novice i would like to know, are they meant to move freely or a bit on the stiff side, when i try to move mine in Little increments, it is very jerky.

Any advice would be most welcome.

This is the item in question.

Mutley,

When I bought my 6" I had the same problem. I had not fully released the table clamps.

Best Regards
Bob

i dont know how the smaller ones are but on my 10" the worm gear fromt bearing near the handle is an eccentric to adjust the backlash, may need adjustment. just a thought, it should turn smoothly but not have much slack id say 15'minutes at most ???

I bought the 6" from them at Guildford, its got a very smoothe action not jerky at all. Have you got the worm & wheel fully meshed as its possible to disengage it so the table turns freely.
