well I feel like I have been sitting on the sidelines here. last weekend got Up at 4 am on Saturday and drove to the Slater Mills Museum. The museum is a great place and has some great folks. Unfortunately the interpreter we had was a consummate newbie. She was doing her best to repeat what she was trained to say but it was obvious she had no understanding behind it. frustrating to say the least. I dropped off a handful of CDs packed with public domain PDFs of mill engineering mill machinery , cotton growing , vegetable dying, and a couple on Sam Slater and Eli Whitney. These were graciously received by one of the senior guides.

Then Sunday morning off to the grand opening of the Boston Waterworks museum http://www.waterworksmuseum.org/ I set up my engine display across from the cylinders of the Worthington engine. Right in front of the sign explaining the first biological monitoring station.and next to the sign that said tours start here . That is where the museum director set up a table for my display. Great venue and live music most of the day.
1500 people showed up for the open house. There were hundreds of off the wall questions. people either though my engines were water testing devises or some kind of pumps or had no clue what there were or what they were for. To add to the mayhem I could only run a few engines on my small but quiet compressor built from and old refrigerator compressor and kids of all ages wanted to fondle the engines that were not running and spin the fly wheels. and a couple people though the feed tubes on mini kin were crank handles, and tuned them. One very energetic kid seemingly tried to eat things. a couple of folks wanted to know if my engines were going to be on permanent display. And some folks just wanted to know when the tour was starting.
I did see a few familiar faces from the NEMES group and show.
