I am building my boiler from a 2" section of copper pipe. I want to put a pressure gauge on the boiler, but I am confused as how to install it. Some Jensen model boilers have the gauge screwed right to the boiler. Other boilers have a loop of pipe before the gauge. Which method would be the best for my application?

The loop serves to insulate the high temperature steam from the gauge. ;)

Or, more correctly - the loop collects a few drops of condensate (water) and buffers the tube from the direct action of the steam
