Today I just finished on developing a low-height (20mm) presetting gauge for my Deckel FP2.

A nice neat job and a useful tool that will last for a long time.

But what is the last photo?

Good morning Jim. It is the hardening of the moving probe. 1st picture; third part from left. Top surface need to be hard because is the part in direct touch with tool. You can see the torch and the part is slightly red in the picture. It was heated until become around orange colored so immediately put into a can full of hi temp oil: the same kind used for french fries...
