Hello all of you,
A friend got some castings in a box that must come from the US. Tey are aluminum and on the box is written "Palmer Bros".
Together with it a drawing/plan, made by H. Upshur and dated 12-15-00.
The drawing is from a single cilinder engine with a T-cylinder.
The castings are for a Palmer Bros engine type NR2.
Is there anyone familiar with these castings and are there plans for the 2-cylinder?
Hope someone has an answer.

From the Netherlands,

Nemt

I will have to try to research the Palmer Bros engine.

As far as H Upshur that would be Hamilton aka Dick Upshur who lived in SE PA

Last I heard his daughter was selling plan sets via the internet and another guy was selling at shows. and his son was updating the web site. A popular beginner IC, bar stock engine.

Hamilton Upshur published his design for a T head single cylinder engine in Model Engine Builder. Can't remember which issue, but was one of the early ones.

The design was a stylised version of the Palmer ZR1 and was designed to be built from barstock. There were a few sets of castings made, and these were advertised at the same time as the published drawings.

I don't know of any plans for a 2 cylinder version, but if using barstock, I doubt it would be all that difficult to adapt the original design.
