Hello,

UK based, south west England nr gloucester. I have been model engineering since I was eight years old. Have made 3, 4, 6 inch steam traction engines. Just completing a full size Ruston Procter light steam tractor. I have always wanted to make some IC engines, so have bought a set of Wright J5 castings, and a half scale John Deere hit n miss casting set.

bTW, I'm looking or the rear castings for the Wright engine, I need the castings for the rear blower housing, gearbox and back plate.

Take a look at my website, link below, you will also see images of my ward winning Royal Scott rebuilt,

Happy days,

Colin

Hi Colin,welcome to the forum.

Hi Colin where did you get the john deer castings from?
Calum

I got them from Leroy Hoover in Pensilvania, nice set too. The engine is half scale, and it has 1-7/8 bore, so a nice size. I have machined the main crankcase, and it's good quality too. I have not seen a John Deere hit n miss in the uk before, I'm told there are some around !

I will post some photos when its coming along . . . . . . . . .
