This Elmer's #2 is inverted from the orientation on the plans, along with some other
modifications I have made. Here are a few pics so far. I am not allowed to take
photos in the shop at school, so this is the best I can do. Today was my first day
using a Bridegeport with a DRO! Yay!

Haven't had much time for polishing. The finished engine will have a satin finish
done with sanding and stopping with steel wool.

Sorry for fingerprints... Bronze bushings pressed in.

A sampler of how it will sit when finished: need to mill a bit off the top of the body...

I like the inverted mod. Looks like you brought the intake back through the same face as the exhaust as well. I liked the cleaner look when I did that with mine.

Your modifications to the original look good.

Are you using Oil Impregnated Bronze for the bushing?

Have you increased the diameter of the crank?

I am willing to bet that you will have a smooth running engine when you are finished.

Yes, I am using oil impregnated bronze for the bushings. I increased the shaft diameter to 1/4, because I felt like it could use something more sturdy than 3/16. My flywheel and both of the cranks will be made of brass, so I figured the 3/16 might be a little flimsy for all that rotating weight.
