After dinner tonight the wife wanted to go to a local women's
clothing store. I went along because there happens to be a
Tractor Supply store right next to it.

I saw a little 6" Clarke abrasive cut off saw on the top shelves
in the power tools isle and got to thinking about how that might
fit into my hobby shop needs. It will cut most metals within
1/2" of the vise, 1-1/2" maximun capacity.
(that would work for what I'd expect of it)

No price listed so I find a clerk.
He says $29.97
It's not my fault it followed me home!

Rick nice find I just have to detour a few hundred feet on my way home to the TSC store and see if they have any in stock.

I look at the sell price for something like this and am always amazed that it can be made, even at a bowl of rice a day for wages, boxed, shipped and retailed for so very few $$$.

Bob Clarke is a UK based company.
Their rice is imported...

Hi all,

Clarke is a brand name used by a UK company called Machine Mart.

The Clarke brands are all of far eastern origin.

The Clarke brand tends to be of a slightly higher quality than normal imports. I think they have their quality control in good order.

My little compressor has just lasted me 20 years of continuous use, and owes me absolutely nothing, my new vertical tank big one will be coming from the same place.

They occasionally have VAT tax free evenings, so I make up a shopping list, then dive into the local store and get an instant 17.5% saving on all Clarke products.

Another of the same ilk is Sealey.

Hope this has explained a little.

John
