How about a source for brass 5-40 x 1/2" hex head screws.

Micro Fasteners doesn't list that size.

"Model" bolts and miniature machine screws are different things. "Model" bolts are made to replicate the head-to-shank proportions of standard ASTM structural bolts and on a model they look far better than miniature machine screws. American Model Engineering http://www.americanmodeleng.com/ is one good place to get model hex bolts and they have #5-40. The 5-40 is an odd size for industrial users but it represents a 1" diameter ASTM bolt in 1.5" scale.

Just received and order (my first with them) from Micro fasteners and I'm pleased they look god and I can't believe how quick they got them sent out to me. I will defiantly be a repeat customer! I have their catalog right here and they do list 5-40x.5 in stainless and brass.
