Hello all,
I've been wanting a better indicator holder for my mill for a while. I have a cheap Indicol clone, and it's really just garbage. So I set out to make my own.

The main inspiration for this build was when I found this little pivoting dovetail holder. It's a little grimy, but it had been sitting in a drawer with a lot of stuff I hadn't gotten around to picking through.

So I measured the size shaft it would need, and then made up a quick Crap-o-CAD.

Here's the shaft, turned from a 1/4" length of drill rod. I used my carriage stop (for the first time!) on the shoulder. What a nice thing! Now I don't have to worry about where I stop, I just go until I bump into the stop. I like it.

And it fits perfectly into the dovetail holder. Now to find a scrap of aluminum to make the other bits... I've re-organized and now I can't find anything! :D
