Hi JimM , If the cutters are cheep and in good condition they are worth getting ,i use my H mill all the time ,you cant beet them for gear cutting, profilling,sliting saws ect the horizontal set up is very stiff an with good sharp cutters will give an excellent finish.here are some photo's of some jobs i have dun with mine.

Profile on engine base

Milling flats on lever

Gang milling Hex with 2 side and face cutters ,flats will always be parralell

Radius on link end quicker than setting up R/T if you have the correct radius tool

Slotting , you can cut deeper, thinner slot

Vee's are easy
