Help required with threading inserts

Pat,

Thanks for the info, but I have been single point threading for around 50 years and cutting with carbide for the last 20, so I think I might have mastered it by now.

One thing I have noticed though, the tips are ground edged rather than moulded, so they should cut like HSS, and I will try that method first.

I was asked by phone yesterday about how I am getting on with this project and I have actually sorted things out. These are the items that I purchased from several suppliers to get me set up with the 16mm sized tips and rather beefy holders. Smaller sized holders can be easily obtained, they just need a bit of searching for.
The whole lot came to around 100 UK pounds.
