Hello to everyone from Ontario Canada,

Been lurking and learning for a few months now.

Looking forward to a little more learning when I have the time to check the board.

Also looking for a new mill for my shop.
I presently have an older Busy Bee knee mill which I have just put new bearings in.

Was looking at the Grizzly G6760 Vertical Mill which has now been discontinued from Grizzly. The search is back on.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum!!!

I am in Woodstock, Ontario.
There are a few of us in the Ontario area.
You anywhere close?

What kind of work do you do on your lathe and mill?

Andrew

Hello Andrew,
I am in Brockville , about an hour south of Ottawa.

I have a motocycle shop so the lathe and mill are used for business.

I also manufacture some special parts that i sell for Panhead wheel hub bearing conversion kits.

Cheers

Hi Wayne and welcome to HMEM. Always nice to have another Canuck on here to help keep the balance between the Brits, Kiwi's, Aussie's, American's, and the rest of the Universe. They sure are a friendly bunch. I am sure that you will find a helping hand if you have any questions. We look forward to your participation in the forums.

Cheers :)

Wayne,

Welcome from Stratford Ontario. Do you specialise in Harleys,or others too?

Peter

Welcome aboard Wayne,
Being a displaced Canuck myself, my family moved here in the mid 50's, it's good to get another modeler from north of the boarder.
Andrew, what part of Woodstock are you in? I grew up on Center street, first in the old military barracks and then in a double house next door. We then moved into what was the equivalent of G.I. housing on Bayswater Street.
My dad worked at the Eureka foundry in the northwest corner for years as a wood patternmaker before coming to the States.

Hello Peter,
Yes, specialize in HD. Been doing the motorcycle thing for 30 years but I'm finding it boring of late.
I bought a KBC 9 x 20 last year and did the required mods to make it work properly.
Last thing to do it the cross slide screw size increase but summer is hardly the time to play with it.
I have all the material in the shop so I'll likely do it in the fall when things slow down.
The 9 x 20 is a nice little lathe but I plan to put a DRO on it in the late fall.
Have been looking at these.

I'll likely but a 3 axis DRO on the mini mill this fall also

Cheers

I should have guessed the Harley answer from your user name, I ask because a Friend in Woodstock is into Nortons etc. always on the lookout for him. I have a Shooting star 3 axis DRO on my mill, transfered from my mill/drill. Seven years old and never a problem, quite user friendly. Waiting to buy a two axis for the lathe.
