can anyone tell me if it's possiable to get a nice surface finish from using a small fine stone normally used on a hand drill, but mounted on a mini mill since I don't have a surface grinder-thank you

it might work but usually with any precision grinding the surface finish is a bit dependent on dressing the wheel this trues it and smooths the surface of the stone.

You'll need a large diameter wheel to get the surface speed up like the link shows. The tram will need to be very good.

I've done a bunch of mill-grinding at work, with both diamond and Borazon, peripheral and cup wheels. Fun stuff. ;D

thank you for the advise will any fine cup wheel stone work, and does anyone know where can I fine a cup grinding big enough to fit my Mini mill without damageing the the machine
