I am in the process of making a set of 1 to 1 32 DP bevel gears. My question is, which involute cutter number
do I use? Do I use the 135-rack since the teeth are flat? Do I use the one that corresponds to the number of
teeth as if I were cutting a spur gear? Does it matter since both gears will have the same number of teeth?

Thanks in advance.

The formula is 1 over the sine of the angle times the number of teeth

So for a 20 tooth 1:1 bevel gear, i.e. a 45 degree mitre gear it's 1 over the sine of 45 x 20 = 28.8 DP
and in which case you will use a No 4 cutter instead of the No 6 used if it were a spur gear.
