Nice design, with a cast cylinder, over the top steam chest, and looks like adjustable valve throw.

Edit: I would guess this is a commercially made engine, similar to a Cretors, due to the nice mitred cast frame, cast cylinder, cylinder head drain, superbly designed and cast flywheel with ellipsoidal spokes, beautiful tapered connecting rod and rod ends and straps, adjustable valve throw, etc.

There is a very high degree of excellent detailing and consistency on this engine. Even the crank disk has a recess on one side for balancing the engine.
The passages are cast into the cylinder.
Very nice engine, and far above your average workshop-made engine.

The grooved outer rim of the flywheel would indicate that is ran some machine similar to what a Cretors was used for.

The crosshead angle bracket supports look a little cheap, but I still say it looks like a very nice commercial engine.

Should be interesting to see what it goes for.

COMPLICATED MECHANISM.

erm where, all makes good sense to me :)
