So I kind of fell down a steam-engine rabbit hole after a documentary of a local municipal water works steam engine restoration renewed steam interest. Growing up I had a couple small Wilesco engines that I haven't used in 20 years. I thought it would be cool to buy one and ended up with this after finding it locally on eBay.

I plan to do a full restoration, get her running on steam again. It needs a valve and valve rod, which shouldn't be too bad. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions for people as I go.

It's a bit larger than most I've seen of this style with a 5" stroke and almost 2" bore (1-15/16). The base is 26" long and the flywheel is almost 13"

Does anyone recognize this engine? Would love to find out a rough age and manufacturer if possible.

I don't recognize the engine, but the crank end rod bearing looks to be accurate for an older engine.

There are those here that can work out the valve geometry if you don't know how to work backwards from the valve stroke and the port dimensions.

Looks like it will be a nice restoration project.

Good luck with it.
