This is an engine I made many many years ago. It was from a magazine plan but I cannot remember which magazine. Maybe Model Engineer or Model Engineers Workshop. The block was Aluminium as was the head. A high tensile bolt was used for the crank and the cast iron piston and contra piston runs in a soft steel liner. It took a bit to get it to run and its total run time totals less than five minutes. The conrod was made from some 3mm Aluminium plate that was supposed to be of a hard grade but after running the big end has flogged out a bit so I never ran it again. I will replace the conrod with some suitable material.I intended to put it on a power pod atop an R/C glider to give it a powered climb to height. It is special because it was my first engine build.
