Hi All,

Just a quick question I am designing my own 4 cylinder radial vacuum engine and just wondered has anyone come across one or seen one made before, wanted to do some research incase im going to come into problems or it doesn't work.

Thanks

Vacuum engine? Is this going to be a four cylinder radial flame licker? Sounds like an interesting project.
John Moore (Bogstandard) made a two cylinder push-pull version a while ago, perhaps that could help. Sorry but I don't have the reference to it.

Cheers Guys thanks for your replys.

This one is a copy of a pic from a model expo report in Model Engineer vol 170, p 210, issue 3939, 19 feb 1993. Alas, no other info can be gathered on the model and its builder, only “flame licker engine by David Hanstead”. A radial engine, yes, but I don’t even know if it is a true rotary engine. an amazing vacuum engine in any case.

Wow! That engine looks amazing its a shame not to be able to see it running. my design is slightly different the cylinders do not rotate around the center they stay stationery its just the lay out in a radial pattern.
