I am doing some work on my mini-mill and need to know some specs on the thread at the top of the spindle. (The nut that holds the spindle together.)
I've measured the OD to be 27mm and thread pitch to be 1.5mm. From what I've found on the web, this looks to be correct.
I am making a new nut, so I need to know what size to bore the nut to before I start threading. Measuring the ID of the existing nut gave me 25.62mm. I then got out my trusty calculator and figured that 27mm x 1.5mm should give 25.85mm, so I must be close...
Can anybody verify this for me?
